I’ll never forget a season when I was 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐲. I was trying so hard—trying to be a better husband, a better dad, trying to break habits I hated, trying to pray more, read my Bible more. But night after night, I went to bed feeling the same: 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝.
That’s the thing about “trying.” It will wear you out. You grit your teeth, you make promises to “do better tomorrow,” but eventually you hit a wall. And when you’re exhausted, you don’t just slow down. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭.
Here’s the truth that changed everything for me: 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐑𝐘. 𝐇𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍.
“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” (1 Timothy 4:8)
Trying runs on 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫—and willpower runs out. Training taps into the 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭.
Even Jesus had daily rhythms of prayer, solitude, and connection with His Father. If He needed them, what makes us think we don’t?
Training means showing up—day after day—to pray, read the Word, connect in community, and serve. Slowly, something shifts. Trying wears you out. Training builds you up.
Are you ready to stop trying and start training?
✅ Pray daily
✅ Read the Word daily
✅ Build accountability
✅ Remove what trips you up

A recent study looked at people who read the Bible from age 8 to 80+.
Here’s what they found 👇
📉 Loneliness dropped by 30%
📉 Anger by 32%
📉 Alcohol use by 42%
📉 Bitterness by 43%
📉 Lust by 61%
📈 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐤𝐲𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝟐𝟐𝟎%!
Why? Because the Word is “living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12).
It’s not just a book—it’s a weapon. When you pick up your “sword” daily, you’re not just fighting battles—you’re building a life rooted in God’s truth.
Here’s the hard truth: 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮.
It comes in waves—some days you feel like reading your Bible, praying, serving. Other days you don’t.
𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥.
Training is about showing up when it’s exciting, when it’s boring, and when it’s hard.
Training is about showing up, stepping up, stepping out, stretching yourself, building stamina, growing roots, becoming unshakable. It’s about consistency. That’s why we don’t wait for motivation. We showed up a determination.
Some of you are tired. Some are battling habits, addictions, or marriages barely holding together. Here’s the question: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧?
